IN MEMORY OF DR. LAURA HENDRICKSON

I only knew Dr. Laura through her writing, but greatly respected and admired how she wrote, taught, thought and love the Lord Jesus. Here are a few posts remembering her:

From the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors

From the Biblical Counseling Coalition

From The Institute for Biblical Counseling  and Discipleship (IBCD)

I was half way through her book Will Medicine Stop the Pain? (with Elyse Fitzpatrick) when I thought it would help someone else more than me, and lent it out. So far, it is fantastic.

This is an excerpt from the IBCD web page. I recommend taking a look at all her articles:

We are grieved over the recent passing of Dr. Laura Hendrickson on Monday, February 24, 2014.  Laura served with IBCD up until April 2010 as a caring counselor and friend. During her time with IBCD, Laura counseled long hours, authored counseling books, taught in the Care and Discipleship series, and helped other counselors to grow in understanding with her unique background as a medical doctor. She was affectionately known as “our Dr. Laura.” Her service with IBCD was carried out with cheerful enthusiasm and deep commitment to Christ and His people. Her writings reflect her unique experience, insight and expertise in dealing with some of the most difficult counseling issues. Her work will continue to bless and benefit our movement for many years to come.  We express our sympathy to her family and pray that the Lord will comfort them (2 Corinthians 1:3-5).
